Path of let go let come

My inner foot soldier, the part of me that rolls out of bed and marches to the office each morning, resents our job. She defends her right to resist and complain, but I tire of it.

“What’s your problem?” I ask. “If you would simply ‘turn the other cheek’ a different paradigm awaits. One in which the work is a curriculum for developing discipline and focus. One in which the work is spiritual exercise—a fierce yoga—offering itself for exploration and practice. Can you not see how fortunate we are to find a training ground ideally suited for building consciousness?”

Truth is, my complaining foot soldier does not see. She prefers contentment and comfort over consciousness.

American philosopher Ken Wilbur says:  Authentic spirituality does not render the self content, but renders the self undone.

I ponder his words as I strive to let-go my ego’s limited desires and let-come the hands and feet, eyes and ears, heart and mind of Spirit.
